Description	MAA GROUP BERHAD (“MAAG” or “the Company”) Provision of financial assistance to Columbus Capital Funds Management Pty Limited (“CCF”)
Pursuant to paragraph 8.23 (1) of the Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, the Board of Directors of MAAG hereby announces that its wholly owned subsidiary, MAA International Assurance Ltd, had extended a loan of AUD1.0 Million (“Loan”) to its indirect associate company, CCF on 25 October 2012 pursuant to a loan agreement with CCF dated 25 October 2012. CCF is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Columbus Capital Pty Ltd which in turn is a 47.95% owned associated company of MAAG. The Loan is short term in nature and is subject to interest based on the prevailing market rate. The Loan shall be repayable by 28 February 2013. CCF may elect to extend the Loan to 31 March 2013 with written notice. The Loan will be utilized to ensure a smooth integration of the residential mortgage portfolio of Origin acquired on 28 September 2012. The Loan is not subject to the approval of the shareholders of MAAG or any regulatory authorities. None of the Directors and substantial shareholders of MAAG and persons connected to them have any interest, direct or indirect, in the Loan. This announcement is dated 25 October 2012.
