| Working experience and occupation | After a brief stint in the banking industry, he was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1994. He then went into active legal practice focusing mainly on civil litigation and corporate matters both as an advocate and solicitor and as a partner in a legal firm before joining the Tanco Group of Companies in December 2000 as a Senior Legal Executive. In mid-2001, he was promoted to Manager of the Legal Department and in 2003, as Head of Group Legal Affairs overseeing the legal matters affecting the Group’s interests in the property, timeshare and resort sectors, a post which he holds till todate. In 2004, he was appointed as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of Tanco Resorts Berhad (TRB) overseeing the management and administration of TRB’s timeshare business and in April, 2006 with the approval from the regulatory authorities, was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of TRB, a post which he holds till todate. He is also TRB’s representative in the Malaysian Holiday Timeshare Developers Federation (MHTDF) and an elected member of the Executive Committee of the MHTDF. In 2010, he was tasked to oversee the Group’s Property Sales Administration Dept and in 2011, he was appointed as Chief Operations Officer of Palm Springs Development Sdn Bhd, the Group’s subsidiary which owns and is developing Palm Springs Resort City, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. Since joining the Group and in addition to undertaking the jobscopes of his various posts within the Group, he has also been involved in the Group’s corporate planning and restructuring exercises. |
