The Company wishes to announce that the Board of Directors of MAS (“Board”) has received a letter dated 8 August 2014 from its major shareholder, Khazanah Nasional Berhad, requesting for the Company to undertake a selective capital reduction and repayment exercise pursuant to Sections 60 and 64 of the Act. A copy of the aforesaid letter is attached herewith. The Board, save for the interested directors, will deliberate on the Proposed SCR and will decide on the next course of action. Pursuant thereto, further development of the above matter will be announced on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in due course. This announcement is dated 8 August 2014.
