Reference is made to the above legal case which the Company had earlier filed in the Melaka High Court against the Defendants praying principally for the return of the Company's approximately 223 acres of plantation land located in the Mukim of Ayer Panas, Jasin, Melaka which was illegally sold and transferred by the Company's former directors to the 1st Defendant in 2007. The Melaka High Court and the Court of Appeal had subsequently allowed applications by the 1st Defendant and the 7th Defendant to strike off the case against them following which the Company had on 13 July 2012 filed an application for leave to appeal to the Federal Court. The Company wishes to announce that the Federal Court had on 19 November 2012 rejected the Company's application for leave and dismissed the motion for leave with cost of RM10,000 each to the 1st Defendant and the 7th Defendant. The Company, on the advice of its solicitiors, will be filing a fresh suit in the High Court of Melaka on the basis that the merits of the case have not been heard. The Company will make the necessary announcement on further development on this matter in due course. This announcement is dated 22 November 2012. | |
