The Board of Directors of PLS Plantations Berhad (formerly as Pembinaan Limbongan Setia Berhad) (“PLS or the Company”) has been informed by its solicitor of the following update :- On 18th December 2002, the Company had terminated a sub-contract which had been awarded by the Company to Josu, for failure to complete certain sub-contracted works in accordance with the agreed schedule. The termination was accepted by Josu, and in accordance with the terms of the sub-contract, the Company engaged other contractors to complete the said sub-contracted works. On 6th August 2007, the Company filed a suit against Josu claiming a sum of RM10,302,701.56 for damages incurred by the Company in completing the sub-contracted works. Josu is counter-claiming a sum of RM11,611,750.23 being damages alleged suffered. The Company had filed an application to amend its writ and statement of claim to include a prayer for pre-judgment interests and was allowed by the Court on 21st November 2012 and the matter has been fixed for full trial from 26th November 2012 to 28th November 2012.
