Reference is made to the Company's announcements made on 20 September 2012, 21September 2012 and 28 September 2012. PENERGY wishes to inform that Petroliam Nasional Berhad ("PETRONAS") had vide its letter dated 29 September 2012 ("the said letter"), approved the novation of the Contract, as requested by CEC International Ltd ("CECI") in accordance with Article 15.1 of the Contract, to Coastal Energy KBM Sdn. Bhd. ("Coastal").The approval and the Contract novation is effective from 10 September 2012 ("Novation Effective Date"). PETRONAS, CECI and Coastal each acknowledged and confirmed that with effect from the Novation Effective Date, CECI novated all of its rights, interests, benefits and obligations to and has been substituted and replaced by Coastal as a party to and in the Contract, and that the Contract shall as from the Novation Effective Date be construed and treated in all respects as if Coastal was named as a party to and in the Contract instead of CECI and the Contract thus stands amended accordingly. Save for the above, all other terms and conditions of the Contract (including the Governing Law) shall remain valid, effective and applicable and shall not be varied, amended or otherwise modified without the prior written consent of PETRONAS. CECI, Coastal and Petra Energy Development Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as Petra AWT Sdn. Bhd.) had on 9 October 2012 agreed on the abovementioned terms set in the said letter therein.
