Description	TNB IN A RM1 BILLION OPERATION & MAINTENANCE SERVICES JV IN KUWAIT
Our announcement dated 21 January 2013 and the Articles entitled “TNB inks RM1b Kuwaiti contract” and “Minimal impact from Kuwait project” published in Business Times and StarBiz respectively on 11 July 2013 are referred. Tenaga Nasional Berhad (“TNB”) wishes to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, TNB Repair and Maintenance Sdn. Bhd. (“TNB REMACO”) and Kharafi National of Kuwait (“KN”) has recently signed a seven (7) year contract with Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity & Water (“MEW”) for the Operation & Maintenance (“O&M”) of Shuaiba North Co-Generation (Power & Distillation) Plant in Kuwait. The total contract value is KD 88.882 million (approximately RM1.0 billion) and the contract has started since 19 June 2013. The co-generation plant is located within Shuaiba Industrial Authority Area, approximately 40 km from Kuwait City and is able to produce around 780MW of power and 45 Million Imperial Gallons Per Day (“MIGPD”) of distilled water. The contract will be executed by an unincorporated Joint Venture (“JV”) between TNB REMACO and KN whereby all financing is shared on 50/50 basis. TNB REMACO is responsible to lead the operation and maintenance of the Power Plant and KN is responsible to lead the operation and maintenance of the Distillation Plant. The contract will not have any effect on the issued and paid up share capital and substantial shareholder’s shareholding of TNB, the contract will also has no effect on the consolidated net assets and gearing as well as the consolidated earnings and earnings per share of TNB Group. None of the major shareholders and/or Directors of TNB and/or persons connected to them have any interest, direct or indirect, in the contract. This announcement is dated 12 July 2013.
