Malaysian Pacific Industries Berhad (“MPI”) writes to inform that Carsem (M) Sdn Bhd (“Carsem”), a subsidiary of MPI, had placed its wholly-owned subsidiary, Recams Sdn Bhd (“Recams”), under member’s voluntary winding-up pursuant to Section 254(1)(b) of the Companies Act, 1965. Mr Ling Kam Hoong and Ms Wong Swee Tyng of Messrs Ling Kam Hoong & Co., No. 6-1, Jalan 3/64A, Udarama Complex, Off Jalan Ipoh, 50350 Kuala Lumpur had been appointed as Joint Liquidators of Recams. Recams ceased its operation in 2003 and remained dormant since then. There are no future plans to activate this company.
The voluntary winding-up of Recams will not have any material impact on the net assets and earnings per share of MPI Group for the financial year ending 30 June 2015.

The Company wishes to announce that the Johor State
Government has compulsorily acquired 3.853 acres of land owned by the Company
held under HSD 1396 PTD 257, Mukim Ulu Sg. Sedili Besar, Daerah Kota Tinggi (“the Subject
Land”) pursuant to section 3(1) of the Land Acquisition Act 1960 (“the Act”)
for the proposed water catchment area for the supply of water to Pengerang
Integrated Petrochemical Complex (IPC) for the Johor Water Regulating Body
(BAKAJ). The Subject Land forms part of the 1010.27 acres of land held under the aforesaid title. The Company has received a written notice from Pentadbir Tanah Negeri Johor to attend an inquiry to be held on 4 November 2014 in relation to the acquisition of the Subject Land. The Company intends to submit a claim for compensation in accordance with the Act and attend the inquiry, and will make further announcement in due course. | |
