Further to the Company's announcement on 26 December 2012, the Board of Innoprise Plantations Berhad ("IPB" or "the Company") wishes to announce that Serijaya Industri Sdn. Bhd. ("SJI"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of IPB has issued a Notice of Demand dated 14 March 2014 to its sub-contractor, Asiatic Lumber Industries Sdn. Bhd. ("ALISB") via a legal firm to demand from ALISB the payment of the sum of RM11,619,123.28 (balance after allowance having been taken of the bank guarantee of RM500,000.00 pursuant to the Log Extraction Sub-Contract which had been called in on 20 December 2012) being losses suffered arising from failure of ALISB to produce the minimum quantity of commercial timber as agreed for 2011, 2012 and 2013 pursuant to the Log Extraction Sub-Contract dated 13 January 2006 between SJI and ALISB within 7 days from the said Notice, failing which, SJI will invoke the arbitration process in accordance with the Log Extraction Sub-Contract to recover the same and continuing losses with interest and costs.
