Unless the context otherwise requires,all expressions used herein shall have the same meanings assigned thereto in the Announcements.)
The Board of Directors of PENERGY is pleased to announce that Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) had announced the first oil production from the Kapal, Banang & Meranti (KBM) Cluster fields, offshore Peninsular Malaysia which commenced on 16 December 2013. The KBM Cluster, operated by Coastal Energy KBM Sdn Bhd, was developed with the JV (joint venture) partner of the Company under a Risk Service Contract (RSC) since June 2012. This is the third RSC that has successfully achieved oil production, after the Balai Cluster and Berantai Fields. The KBM Cluster is an eight-year development project with Kapal being in its first development and production phase. The Kapal field facilities consist of one mobile offshore production unit (MOPU), one storage tanker with approximately 600,000 barrels capacity, one drilling rig with an attached well bay module and two flexible flow lines. According to PETRONAS, through this mobile offshore production concept, there is plan to continue determining the potential production from the three KBM fields. The initial production rates from the cluster were over 10,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd), with peak production reaching 13,000 bopd. Unless otherwise defined, the definitions set out in the First Announcement shall apply herein. The Board of Directors of the Company hereby announces that the Company is still currently working out a restructuring scheme, and there is no material development since the announcement made previously on 2 January 2014. The Company has approximately nine (9) months to submit its regularisation plan to the relevant authorities for approval. The Company will make the necessary announcement on the regularisation plan in accordance with the requirements under the PN17. Further, the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, PSSB has been granted an extension of the Order pursuant to Section 176(1) and 176(10) of the Act, by the High Court on 27 January 2014 for a period of one hundred and eighty (180) days effective from 27 January 2014, save that the Order shall not be applicable against Tenaga Nasional Berhad, RHB Bank Berhad, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad, Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad, OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, Petroliam Nasional Berhad and Government of Malaysia.
