We refer to our announcement dated 2 October 2013 relating to the receipt of Notice of Mandatory General Offer (the “Notice”). The Board of Directors of Unico (save for Dr Yeong Cheong Thye @ Yeong Yue Chai and Teoh Seng Hui) wishes to confirm that it does not intend to seek an alternative person to make a take-over offer for the Offer Shares. In accordance with the Malaysian Code on Take-Overs and Mergers, 2010 (the “Code”), the Board of Directors of Unico (save for Dr Yeong Cheong Thye @ Yeong Yue Chai and Teoh Seng Hui) wishes to announce that Hong Leong Investment Bank Berhad has been appointed to act as the Independent Adviser to advise the non-interested Directors and holders of the Offer Shares on the reasonableness and fairness of the Offer. We also wish to announce that the Notice has been despatched to shareholders of Unico today pursuant to the Code. This announcement is dated 8 October 2013. | |
