Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad has on 5 July 2013 issued an UMA query on the sharp rise in price of EASTLND's shares today.
In this respect, investors are advised to take note of the Company’s reply to the above UMA query which will be posted at Bursa Malaysia’s website under the company announcements, http://announcements.bursamalaysia.com when making their investment decision.
The contents of the UMA query is as follows:-
UNUSUAL MARKET ACTIVITY
We draw your attention to the sharp rise in price of your Company’s shares today.
In accordance with the Corporate Disclosure Policy on Response To Unusual Market Activity pursuant to Paragraph 9.11 of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities LR”), you are requested to furnish Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”) with an announcement for public release after making due enquiry with your directors and major shareholders seeking the cause of the unusual market activity in the Company’s securities.
In this respect, you are also required to publicly confirm, amongst others, the following:-
1. whether there is any corporate development relating to your Group’s business and affairs that has not been previously announced that may account for the unusual market activity including those in the stage of negotiation/discussion. All the above-named subsidiaries are dormant companies. MFCS, MFD, MFP and MFV are direct wholly-owned subsidiaries of MFCB. EPSB is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gombak Land Sdn Bhd which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MFCB. MMSB is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Greentown Parking Sdn Bhd which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mega First Industries Sdn Bhd (“MFI”). MFI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MFCB. HLKL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hexachase Labels Sdn Bhd which in turn is a 90% owned subsidiary of Hexachase Corporation Sdn Bhd (“HCSB”). HCSB is a 53% owned subsidiary of MFCB. HPP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hexachase Packaging Sdn Bhd which in turn is a 80% owned subsidiary of HCSB. The Liquidation will not have any effect on the share capital and shareholding structure of MFCB nor have any material financial and operational impact on the earnings, net assets and gearing of MFCB Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2013.
