Further to the completion of the acquisition by AmG Insurance Berhad (“AmG”) of 100% equity interest in Kurnia Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad (“Kurnia”), AmG has obtained the approval (dated 17 December 2012) of Bank Negara Malaysia (“BNM”) for a proposed scheme to transfer the general insurance business of AmG to Kurnia (the “Scheme”).� The Scheme will be implemented in accordance with the provisions of the Insurance Act 1996 and is subject to the confirmation of the High Court of Malaya. An internal business reorganisation exercise to combine AmG’s general insurance business with that of its wholly-owned subsidiary (Kurnia), the Scheme is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2013.� On completion, the combined general insurance businesses of AmG and Kurnia will operate under Kurnia’s general insurance licence, with the surrender of AmG’s licence to BNM for cancellation.
