Further to our announcement dated 9th September 2013, the Company is pleased to announce that RKM Powergen Pvt Ltd (“RKMP”), a 26% owned associate of Mudajaya Corporation Berhad, which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, has notified the Company on 2nd October 2013 that RKMP has on 23rd September 2013 signed Coal Supply Agreements (“Agreements”) with South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (“SECL”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coal India Limited, for the supply of coal for Phase II of the 4x360MW Coal-fired Thermal Power Plant at Ucchpinda, Chhattisgarh, India which consists of 3x360MW installed capacity of the power station. The Agreements shall remain in force until the end of 20 years period (which can be extended upon mutual agreement by both parties) or of the life of the power plant, whichever is earlier, with the following salient terms: i) Annual contracted quantity of coal supply is 4,550,857 MT as per original Letter of Assurance (“LOA”) issued earlier by SECL; ii) The “As Delivered Price of Coal” for coal supplies pursuant to the Agreement shall be the sum of Base Price, Other Charges and Statutory Charges, as applicable at the time of delivery of Coal (at prevailing price of approximately USD25/MT); iii) Mode of transport is by rail; iv) Type of coal: Grade F (Gross Calorific Value 3,300 - 3600Kcal/Kg). With the Coal Supply Agreements for the total contracted quantity of coal of 6,240,857 MT per year, RKMP has secured full coal requirement for the operation of its 4x360MW Coal-fired Thermal Power Plant at Ucchpinda, Chhattisgarh, India.
