DescriptionSUMATEC RESOURCES BERHAD ("SUMATEC" OR "THE COMPANY")

Clarification of article published in Business Times dated 22 June 2013 titled "Sumatec sees RM1b revenue by 2015"

We refer to the news article that was published by Business Times on 22 June 2013 entitled “Sumatec sees RM1b revenue by 2015”.

We wish to clarify that :-

1) the revenue of RM1 billion refers to the oil revenue from the Rakushechnoye Oil Field (‘the Field”), and not the Company’s target revenue; and

2) the time frame of three years as mentioned in the first paragraph of that article should actually refer to four full years or operation after taking over of the Field by the Company.

The RM1 billion oil revenue from the Field is derived based on the independent assessment of the Field carried out by SRK Consulting (Australasia) Pte Ltd (“the Consultant”). A full copy of the Consultant’s report was included in the Circular to Shareholders of the Company dated 30 May 2013. In the report, the Consultant forecasted that the Field would be able to produce more than 9,000 barrels of oil per day in the fourth full year of operations i.e. in 2017.

A 9,000 barrels of oil per day production and assuming that the oil market price is maintained at USD100 per barrel, translates into full year oil revenue from the Field of about RM1 billion.

This announcement is dated 25 June 2013.
