Between 1998 to 2003, he secured several major contracts for offshore steel tubular and drilling rig worth over USD50M. His clients included oil majors such as Petronas Carigali, Sarawak Shell, ExxonMobil and Nippon Oil. He participated in several industry activities including the Petronas sponsored Cost Reduction Alliance (CORAL) initiative as committee member. This was his opportunity to mingle with key management and decision makers of regional oil companies.
Armed with these key contacts, he joined Ramunia Holdings Berhad in 2003 as General Manager for Business Development. While in Ramunia, he expanded his networking to include more international players such as ConocoPhilips, Pertamina, Unocal, Newfield, Murphy Oil and Oil & Gas National Company (ONGC) of India.
