Bhd.("Monosetia"), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company had received a Notice pursuant to Section 218 of the Companies Act, 1965 dated 17 June 2010 ("Section 218 Notice")(which was received on 29 June 2010) from the solicitors of Revertex Finewaters Sdn Bhd ("Revertex").
Pursuant to the Section 218 Notice, Monosetia is required to settle the judgement sum of RM17,893.00 as at 7 January 2010 and the cost in the sum of RM576.00 being the cost awarded by Court together with interest at the rate of 1.5% per month calculated from 10 October 2008 to 17 June 2010 (20 months) in the sum of RM5,367.90 all amounting to RM23,836.90 within twenty one days from the date of the said Section 218 Notice.
Revertex had obtained judgement over Monosetia for debts owing by Monosetia to Revertex as Monosetia was unable to pay its judgement debts when it was due.
Monosetia was a major subsidiary of RCB. However, there is no operation impact as the operations of Monosetia has become very minimal since 2009. The total cost of investment in Monosetia was RM6 million. The financial impact will be the impact on total cost of investment in Monosetia.
There is no expected losses arising from the proceedings since the operations of Monosetia is substantially reduced since 2009.
The Company had on 5 April 2010 announced that a winding-up order had been issued against Monosetia. The Directors will seek legal advice on the next course of action. Further development of the matter will be announced in due course.
