Description	PRESS METAL BERHAD ("PMB" or "THE COMPANY") - Fire Incident at Samalaju Smelter
The Board of Directors of the Company wishes to inform that a fire incident occured on Sunday, 17 May 2015, at the smelting plant belonging to its subsidiary, Press Metal Bintulu Sdn. Bhd. ("PM Bintulu") in Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu, Sarawak (“Samalaju Smelter”). At the time of this announcement, the Board of Directors is unable to ascertain the cause of the fire or estimate the full impact and consequences of the incident. The incident did not cause any harm to persons or any known uncontrolled emissions.   The preliminary estimate of the impact on the earnings of the PMB Group is not expected to be substantial and will also be mitigated as it is adequately insured.   The Company's other subsidiary in Sarawak, Press Metal Sarawak Sdn. Bhd., which operates the Mukah smelter remains in full operation and  the construction of the Phase 3 aluminium smelter located next to the Samalaju Smelter with an expected annual production capacity of 320,000 metric tonnes is ongoing.   Information on PM Bintulu PM Bintulu is an 80%-owned subsidiary of the Company, principally engaged in the manufacturing of aluminium products.
