We refer to the announcements dated 20 June 2014, 4 July 2014, 15 September 2014, 10 October 2014, 17 October 2014, 14 November 2014 and 17 November 2014 in relation to the Proposed Disposal (“Announcements”). Unless otherwise stated, words and expressions used in this announcement shall have the same meaning as those attributed to them in the Announcements. On behalf of the Board of Directors of SHB, Affin Hwang Investment Bank Berhad (formerly known as HwangDBS Investment Bank Berhad) wishes to announce that SHB and the Purchaser have mutually agreed not to proceed with the sale and purchase of the entire equity interest in SILK due to non-fulfilment of all conditions precedent within the agreed timeline. The SSA pursuant to the Proposed Disposal will accordingly lapse today. SHB shall within seven (7) days from today refund to the Purchaser the Deposit together with all interest accrued thereon. The Board does not foresee material financial impact to SHB as a result of the termination of the SSA in terms of the effect on earnings per share and net asset per share.
