The Directors were only made aware of the Summons on 5 August 2010 when one of the Directors visited the business premise to collect the mails.
The Summons was heard at the Session Court in Butterworth, Penang on 13 July 2010.
Pursuant to the Summons, Elcomp claimed for :-
i) the sum of RM37,065.51 for goods sold and delivered to HCMSB;
ii) interest at the rate of 8% per annum on RM37,065.51 from 7 January 2010 to date of full settlement;
iii) cost; and
iv) such other order or relief as the Court deems fit.
HCMSB is a major subsidiary of the Company and the total cost of investment in HCMSB was RM1,285,600.00
The Company does not forsee any financial impact resulting from the Summons as it has made a provision for the claim in its accounts for the financial year ended 31 December 2009. There would not be any operational impact on the Carlaw Group as it has ceased operation.
The Company will obtain the necessary legal advice from its solicitors in connection with the Summons.
