Description	Gunung Capital Berhad ("Gunung" or "the Company") successfully secured Feed-In Tariff ("FiT") Approval for two 10 MW Small Hydropower Plants from the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia ("SEDA") for its 70%-owned subsidiary Gunung Hydropower Sdn Bhd
Further to our announcements dated 3 September 2012, 6 September 2012 and 25 September 2012, and 5 April 2013 in relation to the proposed joint venture with Perak Hydro Renewable Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd (“PHREC”) to jointly carry out the development of selected small hydropower plants in the State of Perak, on a Build Operate and Own concept, and under the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Feed-In-Tariff Programme (“Proposed Joint Venture”), the Board of Directors of the Company wishes to announce that on 19th May 2014, through its 70%-owned subsidiary Gunung Hydropower Sdn Bhd (“GHSB”), has been successfully granted FiT Approval Certificates to supply renewable energy from small hydropower by SEDA pursuant to Section 7 of the Renewable Energy Act 2011. FiT Approval Certificates have been received by GHSB for GHSB’s 10 MW installed capacity small hydropower site at Pulau Tengah, Chenderoh, Sungai Perak, and 10MW installed capacity small hydropower site at Pulau Temelong, Temelong, Sungai Perak. With the FiT Approval, under Section 12 of the Renewable Energy Act 2011, the Company is required to enter into two (2) seperate Renewable Energy Power Purchase Agreements with Tenaga Nasional Berhad ("TNB") for a FiT concession period of 21 years for electricity generated from small hydropower at a feed-in tariff rate of 24 sen per kilowatt hour, by 22 July 2014. The feed-in tariff commence date of the Fit concession period is 29 December 2016. The FiT Approval is expected to have a positive effect on the earnings of Gunung for the financial year ending 31 December 2017 (after the commencement of the Fit concession period), and have no effect on the share capital and substantial shareholders’ shareholdings in Gunung. This announcement is dated 20 May 2014.
