MMC Corporation Berhad (“MMC” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, MMC Engineering Services Sdn Bhd (“MMCES”), together with its consortium partners, Siemens Aktiengesellschaft, Germany and Siemens Malaysia Sdn Bhd had received a Letter of Award dated 12 May 2014 from Pengerang Power Sdn Bhd for the Rapid Project. MMCES is to undertake major civil and infrastructure facilities works for the Rapid Project amounting to approximately RM300 million. Completion is expected to be by mid of 2017. MMC Group does not foresee any exceptional risks from the Rapid Project other than execution risks. The Rapid Project is expected to contribute positively towards the earnings and net assets of MMC Group commencing from the financial year ending 31 December 2014. It will not have any effect on the share capital and substantial shareholders’ shareholding of the Company. None of the directors and/or major shareholders of the Company, or persons connected with them have any interest, direct or indirect, in the Rapid Project. This announcement is dated 19 May 2014. | |
