Contents: Reference is made to the rating announcement from RAM Rating Services Berhad ("RAM") dated 6 December 2010 whereby RAM has placed the MTN a Rating Watch with a negative outlook on the BB3/NP stand-alone ratings of the MTN, which reflects RAM's heightened concern about MAAH's ability to pay the RM30.0 Million principal. Under the terms of the trust deed, MAAH is required to deposit RM30.0 Million into the Debt Service Reserve Account ("DSRA") by 6 December 2010 (DSRA deadline), failure to do so is deemed as an event of default. Meanwhile, the AAA(bg) rating of MAAH' first RM200.0 Million MTN issue (2007/2012) under the MTN (the First Issue), which is guaranteed by AAA-rated DBS Bank Ltd ("DBS"), has been reaffirmed with a stable outlook.
The Company is pleased to announce that MAAH has sought indulgence from MTN holders via the Trustee for an extension of time till 6 January 2011 to deposit into DSRA the principal on Series 2 of the MTN of RM30.0 Million. MAAH had also, on 3 December 2010, received approval in principle from DBS Bank Ltd, Labuan Branch ("DBS") a bridging loan facility to facilitate settlement of the Series 2 MTN on or before 6 January 2011.
Further development on the abovementioned transaction will be announced in due course.
