PRIVATE PLACEMENT OF UP TO 10% OF THE ISSUED AND PAID-UP SHARE CAPITAL OF HCIB ("PRIVATE PLACEMENT")
Contents: We refer to the earlier announcements in relation to the Private Placement, inter alia, announcements made on 15 December 2009, 17 December 2009, 29 January 2010, 15 March 2010, 15 July 2010 and 22 July 2010.
As announced on 15 March 2010, the Company had extended the tentative time frame for the implementation of the Private Placement from 15 March 2010 to 15 September 2010 ("Implementation Deadline").
In relation to the approval granted by Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("Bursa Securities") for, among others, the listing and quotation of the new ordinary shares of RM0.25 each in HCIB to be issued pursuant to the Private Placement ("Placement Shares") and as announced on 22 July 2010, Bursa Securities had, pursuant to paragraph 6.62 of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Securities ("LR") granted an extension of time of six (6) months up to 29 January 2011 for the Company to implement its Private Placement ("LR Deadline").
To-date, a total of 8,543,126 Placement Shares have been listed on Bursa Securities. However, in view of the current uncertain economic/business sentiments, the Board of Directors of HCIB ("Board") has yet to finalise suitable placees to subscribe for the remaining Placement Shares. In this regard, the Board has proposed to extend the Implementation Deadline from 15 September 2010 to 29 January 2011. The reason for the extension of four (4) months and two (2) weeks is to streamline the Implementation Deadline with the LR Deadline.
