We refer to the announcements made on 16 August 2012, 8 March 2013 and 8 April 2013 in relation to the tender (“Tender”) for the construction of Batinah Expressway – Package 2, in the Sultanate of Oman (the “Project”).

The Board of Directors of WCT Berhad (“Company”) wishes to further clarify as follows:-

1. Since receiving the notification of acceptance of our tender on 15 August 2012 from the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Tender Department at Muscat, Oman (“the Employer”) the remainder of the procedures for formalization of the Contract had not been completed.

2. Hence, the Company did not receive any notification to commence work and construction works for the Project had therefore in fact never been commenced.

3. The Company was subsequently informed via letter dated 6 April 2013 that the Employer would not be proceeding with the Project pursuant to this Tender and that this Tender had been cancelled. The Employer did not inform the Company as to whether the Employer intended to still proceed with the Project subsequently via any new tender or other procurement method.

4. The Company will continue to pursue job and business opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman.

This announcement is dated 9 April 2013.
