George Kent (Malaysia) Berhad (“GKENT” or "the Group") is pleased to announce that it has received a Letter of Award (“LOA”) from the Ministry of Health (“MOH”) to design and build Phase II of the Kuala Lipis Hospital for a contract sum of RM57 million (“Lipis II”).

The project is to be completed over a period of 30 months and is due for completion in April 2017. This is in line with the Group’s long term strategy to actively bid for current and up-coming infrastructure and engineering related projects.

Lipis II is the second MOH project that is awarded to GKENT and is an extension of Phase I that was successfully completed in 2012, a project worth RM97.75 million. Bagging Phase II of the Kuala Lipis hospital is a testament to the quality and efficiency displayed in Phase I which was delivered on schedule and within budget.

The project is expected to contribute positively to the Group's earnings.


None of the Directors or substantial shareholders of GKENT, or persons connected with them, has any interest, direct or indirect, in the abovementioned contract.
