Malayan Banking Berhad ("Maybank") wishes to announce that one of its indirect subsidiaries, Mayban Securities (Jersey) Limited ("MSJL") has been dissolved on 25 June 2013. MSJL is wholly owned by Maysec Sdn Bhd and its penultimate holding company is Maybank Investment Bank Berhad ("Maybank IB"), which is in turn a wholly owned subsidiary of Maybank. MSJL was previously an investment holding company and has been dormant since 1998. The liquidation of MSJL is part of the corporate rationalisation exercise at Maybank IB which aims to unlock value of its dormant subsidiaries. The dissolution of MSJL will not have any material effect on the earnings or assets of Maybank Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2013. None of the directors or substantial shareholders of Maybank or persons connected to them has any interest in the voluntary liquidation. | |
