IN JUNE 1999, HE WAS TRANSFERRED BACK TO THE MINISTRY OF PRIMARY INDUSTRIES AS DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL AND WAS SECONDED TO THE MALAYSIAN RUBBER BOARD AS THE DIRECTOR GENERAL IN JANUARY 2000 AND SERVED UNTIL HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE PUBLIC SERVICE IN JANUARY 2006.
