The Board of PPB is pleased to announce that Intra Oil Services Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary company of PPB, has accepted the letter of award dated 17 February 2014 from Ocean Pro Offshore Sdn Bhd on 24 February 2014 for the charter of one (1) unit of accommodation barge (the “Contract”). The announcement was cleared by Ocean Pro Offshore Sdn Bhd for release on 4 March 2014.
DURATION OF CONTRACT
The charter is for a period of two (2) years starting from 24 February 2014 with extension option of an additional year.
RISK FACTORS
The risks associated with the Contract are normal operational risks which can be mitigated through PPB Group’s system of project management and internal business controls.
FINANCIAL EFFECTS
The Contract value for the primary term of 2 years is approximately RM52.0 million and this will contribute positively to the revenue and earnings of PPB Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2014 and the financial periods thereafter for the duration of the Contract. There will be no effect on the gearing of the PPB Group and the Contract will not have material effect on the net asset per share for the financial year ending 31 December 2014.
DIRECTORS’ AND MAJOR SHAREHOLDERS’ INTEREST
None of the Directors and/or major shareholders of the Company or persons connected with them have any interest, directly or indirectly in the said Contract.
DIRECTORS’ STATEMENT
The Board of PPB is of the opinion the acceptance of the Contract is in the best interest of PPB.
