1. INTRODUCTION The Board of Directors of UMW Oil & Gas Corporation Berhad (“UMWOG”) is pleased to announce that UMW Petrodril (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (“UPD”) a wholly owned subsidiary of UMW Malaysian Ventures Sdn Bhd, which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, had and was successful in its bid for the provision of a Hydraulic Workover Unit ("HWU") Rig for PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd ("PCSB")'s Workover Programme together with the provision of an Accommodation Work Barge ("AWB") and a Portable Crane valued at approximately RM148 million for an initial period of two (2) years with the option of an extension of one (1) year. . 2. INFORMATION ON PARTIES TO CONTRACT Information on UPD UPD was incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act, 1965 on 29 December 1993 under the name of Petrodril (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. On 10 September 2002, the company assumed its present name. UPD is principally involved in the provision of workover operations for the oil and gas industry. Information on PCSB PCSB is a company incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act, 1965 on 11 May 1978 and has its registered office at Tower 1, Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, 50088 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The principal activities of PCSB are the exploration, development and production of oil and gas. 3. FINANCIAL EFFECTS The provision of the abovementioned HWU is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of UMWOG Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2014. 4. DIRECTORS AND SUBSTANTIAL SHAREHOLDERS INTEREST None of the Directors and / or substantial shareholders of UMWOG and / or persons connected with the Directors and / or substantial shareholders have any interest, direct or indirect in the above. 5. STATEMENT BY DIRECTORS The Board of Directors of UMWOG is of the opinion that the provision of the HWU Rig for PCSB's Workover Programme is in the best interest of UMWOG Group.
