The Company wishes to announce that its public shareholding spread based on the Record of Depositors as at 13 August 2010 being the most practicable date prior to this announcement was as follows:-
Percentage (%) of public spread : 10.07%
Number of public shareholders: 10,077
Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("Bursa Securities") has, via its letter dated 12 July 2010, granted the Company a further extension of time of 3 months from 8 July 2010 until 7 October 2010 to comply with the public shareholding spread requirement of at least 25%.
The extension of time shall expire on 7 October 2010.
The Company has been given to understand through media reports, that PetroSaudi International Ltd ("PSI") plans to privatise and delist UBG Berhad ("UBG") once it has completed its acquisition of the stakes in UBG currently held by the Cahya Mata Sarawak Group and Majestic Masterpiece Sdn Bhd. PSI is also expected to take over and delist two of the Company's subsidiaries, namely, Putrajaya Perdana Berhad and Loh & Loh Corporation Berhad which is 85.85% and 80.32% held by UBG respectively. As at todate, the Company has yet to receive any notice of takeover from PSI or its nominees.
Nevertheless, the Company will continue to explore the various options to address the shortfall in the public shareholding spread in accordance with the Main Market Listing Requirements.
