1. INTRODUCTION The Board of Directors of UMW Oil & Gas Corporation Berhad ("UMW-OG") is pleased to announce that UMW Offshore Drilling Sdn Bhd (formerly known as UMW Standard Drilling Sdn Bhd), a wholly owned subsidiary of UMW Malaysian Ventures Sdn Bhd, which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of UMW-OG, has received a Letter of Award from Petrovietnam Drilling & Well Services Corporation ("PV Drilling") for a contract for the provision of a Jack-Up Drilling Rig and associated services for the end clients, PC Vietnam Limited and PETRONAS Carigali Overseas Sdn Bhd.. 2. DETAILS The Contract, with an estimated contract value of USD 46.5 million for the firm contract period, is for the provision of Drilling Rig Services for Drilling Campaigns for Vietnam Operations, whereby UMW-OG Group will assign its newest rig, UMW NAGA 6 for this contract. The Contract is for four (4) firm wells (approximately 250 days), with three (3) optional wells (estimated 55 days) and thereafter, an Extension Option of 3 wells (estimated at 277 days). The commencement of the contract is expected to take place in early October 2014 immediately upon UMW-OG Group taking delivery of the new rig - UMW NAGA 6, later this month. UMW NAGA 6 is currently under construction by China Merchants Industry Holdings Co. Ltd, at the shipyard located in Shenzen, Mazhou Island, China. UMW NAGA 6 is a premium independent-leg cantilever jack-up rig that has a drilling depth capability of 30,000 feet and has a rated operating water depth of 375 feet. 3. INFORMATION ON PARTIES 3.1 Information on UMW Offshore Drilling Sdn Bhd ("UOD") UOD was incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act, 1965 on 29 July 2003 under the name of UMW Standard Drilling Sdn Bhd. On 13 March 2014, UOD assumed its present name. UOD is principally involved in the offshore drilling business and operations and other engineering services for oil and gas exploration, development and production in Malaysia and overseas. 3.2 Information on PV Drilling PV Drilling is a corporation incorporated and existing under the laws of the S.R. Vietnam, having its principal place of business at 4th. Floor, Sailing Tower, 11A Pasteur Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. PV Drilling is a professional provider of drilling rigs and drilling-related services as well as manpower supply for onshore and offshore drilling operations. 4. FINANCIAL EFFECTS The provision of the abovementioned drilling rig services is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of UMW-OG Group for the financial years ending 31 December 2014 and 2015. 5. DIRECTORS AND SUBSTANTIAL SHAREHOLDERS INTEREST None of the Directors and / or the substantial shareholders of UMWOG and / or persons connected with the Directors and /or substantial shareholders have any interest, direct or indirect in the above. 6.
