The Board of Directors of JCY International Berhad (“JCY” or “the Company”) wishes to inform that there was a worker unrest and fire incident occurred in factories operated by JCY's wholly owned subsidiary, JCY HDD Technology Sdn Bhd, located at Kulaijaya District, Johor. The incident took place on 26 August 2014 and had caused a temporary shutdown of the factory’s operation at that location. However, there were no major damages to the factories and properties of the Company and its subsidiaries. As at the date of this announcement, the Company is of the view that the damages to the factories and properties of the Company and its subsidiaries do not pose any material impact on the financial performance and financial position of the Group for the financial year ending 30 September 2014. The Company is still in the process of assessing the impact caused to the operation of the Group due to the temporary shutdown of the operation located at Kulaijaya District. There are no disruptions to all other operations of the Group located outside Kulaijaya District. The Company is currently taking active steps and measures to address the above matter and to reach an amicable settlement with the workers. This announcement is dated 27 August 2014.
