- Acquisition of shares in Benar Optima Sdn. Bhd.

The Board of Directors of CBIP is pleased to announce that the Company had on 30 July 2014 acquired 2 ordinary shares of RM1.00 each in Benar Optima Sdn. Bhd. (Company No. 1088264-A) (“BOSB”) from Aziah Binti Musa and Radijah Binti Abdul Razak, representing 100% of the total issued and paid-up capital of BOSB for a total cash consideration of RM2.00 (“Acquisition”).

In consequence thereof, BOSB shall become a wholly-owned subsidiary company of CBIP.

The authorised share capital of BOSB is RM400,000.00 divided into 400,000 ordinary shares of RM1.00 each and the paid-up capital is RM2.00 divided into 2 ordinary shares of RM1.00 each. Currently, the business activity of BOSB is investment holding.

The Directors of BOSB are:-

(a) Lim Chai Beng; and

(b) Mak Chee Meng.

The Acquisition would not have material effect on CBIP Group’s earnings per share, net assets per share, gearing, share capital and substantial shareholders’ shareholding for the financial year ending 31 December 2014.

None of the Directors and/or Major Shareholder of the Company and/or persons connected to them has any interest, direct or indirect, in the Acquisition.

His professional knowledge and career placed him well as a consultant to the Ministry of Tourism both nationally and abroad. His career achievements include drafting the blueprint for the ASEAN Tourism Investment Corridor Roadmap, editing the proceedings of the UNWTO World Tourism Conference titled, "Tourism Success Stories and Rising Stars" and publishing a book on Value Innovation in Tourism Human Capital Development.

Prof. Dr. Wong received international recognition and appointment as a Deputy Secretary General of International Tourism Studies Association, USA and Fellows at the Peking University, China and has delivered keynotes in more than twenty international conferences.

Prof. Dr. Wong was instrumental in establishing, and had served as the First President of, the Malaysia Centre for Tourism and Hospitality and Education (MyCenTHE), an Economic Transformation Programme under the Malaysian Prime Minister's Office, which oversees the training capacity development of the tourism and hospitality industry in Malaysia.
