Further to our announcement dated 11 June 2014 (“Announcement”) and Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad's letter dated 13 June 2014, the Board of Daya Materials Berhad wishes to disclose the additional information as follows:-
1. Whether Daya OCI Sdn Bhd (“DOCI”) is a major subsidiary The profits before tax (“PBT”) of DOCI and the DMB group of companies (“Group”) for the financial year ended 2013 is RM8,833,305 and RM11,467,410 respectively. Accordingly, the PBT of DOCI constitutes more than 70% of the Group’s PBT and is therefore deemed to be a major subsidiary. 2. The total cost of investment in DOCI DMB’s total cost of investment in DOCI is RM30,337,946. 3. Details on the circumstances leading to the filing of the Writ and Statement of Claim The Plaintiff is a shipping and forwarding agent. The Plaintiff’s claim in the abovementioned civil suit was in relation to certain shipping, forwarding and logistics services allegedly provided to DOCI which payment had allegedly become overdue. DOCI is currently looking into the matter and will liaise with the Plaintiff’s solicitors in respect of the same. DMB will make further announcements in this matter accordingly.
