1. INTRODUCTION SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad ("SapuraKencana" or the
"Company") is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary company, TL GeoSciences Sdn. Bhd., has been awarded by PETRONAS
Carigali Sdn. Bhd. ("PCSB") with a contract
for the provision of marine geohazards investigation services (the
"Contract"). The value of the Contract is approximately RM60 million
which comprises of provision of marine geohazards investigation services covering PCSB's offshore oil and gas fields in Peninsular
Malaysia. 2. DURATION OF THE CONTRACT The
duration of the Contract is for three (3) years effective from 12th April 2013 until 11th April 2016, with the option to extend for an additional one (1) year period until 11 April,
2017. 3. RISK FACTORS Risk factors affecting the award include execution risks such as
availability of skilled manpower and materials, changes
in prices of materials, changes in political, economic and regulatory
conditions. Throughout the years, SapuraKencana has
established its track record and expertise to undertake these projects.
Notwithstanding this, SapuraKencana shall ensure strict compliance to the
safety and operational procedures in the execution of contract requirements. 4. FINANCIAL EFFECTS The
Contract will have no effect on the issued and paid-up capital of the Company
and is expected to contribute positively
towards the earnings and net assets per share of SapuraKencana Group for the
financial years ending 31 January 2014
to 31 January 2016. 5. DIRECTORS' AND MAJOR
SHAREHOLDERS' INTERESTS None of the Directors and/or major shareholders and/or persons connected
with the Directors and/or major shareholders of
SapuraKencana has any direct or indirect interest in the Contract. 6. DIRECTORS' STATEMENT The Board of Directors of the Company is of the opinion that the acceptance of the Contract is in the best interest of the Company. This announcement is dated 10 May 2013.
