Description | Issuance of RM300 million Tier 2 Junior Sukuk under a RM2 billion Tier 2 Junior Sukuk Programme by CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad |
We, CIMB Group Holdings Berhad (“CIMBGH”) are pleased to announce that CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad (“CIMB Islamic”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of CIMB Bank Berhad (a 99.99% owned subsidiary of CIMB Group Sdn Bhd, which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CIMBGH), has successfully completed its issuance of RM300 million Tier 2 Junior Sukuk (“Tier 2 Junior Sukuk”) under its RM2 billion Tier 2 Junior Sukuk Programme on 18 September 2012. The Tier 2 Junior Sukuk are rated AA+ by Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad. The Tier 2 Junior Sukuk has a maturity of 10 years from the issue date and is callable on any periodic payment date falling on or after the 5th anniversary of the issue date (10NC5). The periodic profit payment rate of the Tier 2 Junior Sukuk is 4.00% per annum to be paid semi-annually. The exercise of the call option on the Tier 2 Junior Sukuk, is amongst others, subject to the approval of Bank Negara Malaysia. The proceeds from the issue shall be made available for the Islamic banking operations of CIMB Islamic or any other Shariah-compliant use as approved by the Shariah Adviser.
