Query Letter Contents	We refer to the Exchange's conversation with the Company in relation to the above article appearing in The Edge Financial Daily, page 4, on Tuesday, 13 January 2015, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference. In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentences which are reproduced as follows:- "The proposed mega merger of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad, RHB Capital Berhad and Malaysia Building Society Berhad (MBSB) is off and an announcement is expected before the end of the week..." "The respective boards are supposed to meet on Wednesday, (tomorrow) when it will be formally expressed that the deal is off." We refer to the query from Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”) received on 13 January 2015 with regard to the above, requesting confirmation on the following sentences which appeared in The Edge Financial Daily, page 4, on Tuesday, 13 January 2015: “The proposed mega merger of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad, RHB Capital Berhad and Malaysia Building Society Berhad (MBSB) is off and an announcement is expected before the end of the week…” “The respective boards are supposed to meet on Wednesday, (tomorrow) when it will be formally expressed that the deal is off.” On behalf of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad ("CIMB Group"), CIMB Investment Bank Berhad wishes to clarify that the parties are still in discussions with respect to the above said proposed mega merger (“Proposed Merger”). The Board of Directors of CIMB Group will be meeting on Wednesday (14 January 2015) to discuss the Proposed Merger. Should there be any material development on the Proposed Merger which warrants disclosure, the appropriate announcement will be made on Bursa Securities accordingly.   This announcement is dated 13 January 2015.
