Further to the announcement made on 30 August 2013 on the Letter of Intent received from Sarawak Energy Berhad to Trenergy Infrastructure Sdn. Bhd. (“Trenergy”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sarawak Cable Berhad (“Sarawak Cable”), the Board of Directors of Sarawak Cable wishes to announce that Trenergy had on 29 October 2013 received a Letter of Award dated 23 October 2013 from Sarawak Energy Berhad on its award to Sinohydro-Trenergy Joint Venture the Mapai to Lachau 500kV Transmission Line Project in Sarawak (“Package B”) for a contract sum of RM352.8 million and a Letter of Award dated 23 October 2013 for the Lachau to Tondong 500kV Transmission Line Project (“Package C”) in Sarawak for a contract sum of RM265.8 million. The commencement date for both Package B and C shall be 15 November 2013 or such later date as may be notified by Sarawak Energy Berhad, with completion period of 23 months and 26 months for Packages B and C respectively. Both Package B and Package C are expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of Sarawak Cable Group for the financial years ending 31 December 2014 and 31 December 2015.
