1. INTRODUCTION The Board of Directors of Eversendai Corporation Berhad (“ECB” or “Company”) is pleased to announce that the Company has, through its subsidiary Eversendai Engineering LLC, Dubai, been awarded the supply, fabrication and erection of structural steelwork for the Crescent City project in Baku, Azerbaijan which is worth USD28.5 million (approximately RM87.3 million) (the “Crescent City Project”).
2. INFORMATION ON THE CRESCENT CITY PROJECT The Crescent City Project was awarded by the developer, Gilan Holding LLC. The Crescent City Project comprises an office tower which has forty one floors. The scope of work includes connection design, preparation of detailed fabrication drawings, raw material supply, fabrication, blasting, primer, application of cementitious fireproofing, installation of the structural steel works, supply and installation of composite metal decking required for the Crescent City Project. The abovementioned works are expected to be completed in August 2014. 3. FINANCIAL EFFECTS The Crescent City Project is expected to contribute positively to the earnings of ECB group for FY2013 to FY2014. 4. RISK FACTORS Risk factors affecting the Crescent City Project include but are not limited to execution risks such as availability of skilled manpower and materials, changes in prices of materials, and changes in political, economic and regulatory conditions. The Company has throughout the years established its track records and expertise to undertake such projects. As such, the management believes that the Company is able to mitigate the abovementioned risk factors. 5. DIRECTORS' AND MAJOR SHAREHOLDERS' INTEREST None of the Directors or major shareholders or persons connected with the Directors or major shareholders of the Company has any direct or indirect interest in the Crescent City Project. 6. DIRECTORS' STATEMENT The Board of Directors of ECB is of the opinion that the acceptance of the Crescent City Project is in the best interest of the Company. This announcement is dated 4 March 2013.
