Contents: On behalf of the Board of Directors of Unisem ("Board"), Maybank Investment Bank Berhad wishes to announce that as at the close of acceptance, excess application and payment for the Rights Issue of Warrants as at 5.00 p.m. on 16 August 2010 ("Closing Date"), the total valid acceptances and excess applications received for the Rights Issue of Warrants were 1,161,675,111 Warrants, representing an oversubscription of 5.89 times over the total of 168,540,090 Warrants available for subscription under the Rights Issue of Warrants.
In accordance with the abridged prospectus dated 30 July 2010 in relation to the Rights Issue of Warrants, the allocation of the excess Warrants, if any, will be determined by the Board in its absolute discretion in a fair and equitable manner in the following priority:
(i) firstly, to minimise the incidence of odd lots; and
(ii) secondly, for allocation to the entitled shareholders and/or their renouncee(s) (if applicable) who have applied for the excess Warrants on a pro-rata basis calculated based on the quantum of excess Warrants applied for.
A summary of the total valid acceptances and excess applications received for the Rights Issue of Warrants as at the Closing Date is set out in Table 1.
